SÄKAPHEN’s two-pack epoxy lining / coating for Potable Water Service has been formulated and designed to fulfil all the technical demands and surpass all emission limit values to ensure the safe operation of plant used in contact with one of our most precious resources – clean drinking water.
Following polymerization, the two-pack epoxy lining / coating can be exposed to drinking water and forms a hard elastic surface containing hydrophobic properties that offer effective protection against corrosion, caking, fouling and incrustation. The cold cure epoxy lining / coating is formulated and developed to be self-priming for direct to metal application and once polymerized is fully machinable.
The polymerized epoxy lining / coating can be characterized by its unique ability not to increase microbiological growth as per DVGW 270. Additionally it fulfils all requirements for the commission and use in both cold and warm water in a test range of +23°C to +60°C (73°F to 140°F).
The lining / coating can be applied on a wide range of substrates ranging from metallic to concrete and used to line and coat varying types of plant and equipment such as Water Storage Tanks, Sand Filter Tanks, Bunds, Pipework and wherever contact with Potable Water occurs including Turbines and Impellers.
SÄKAPHEN epoxy lining / coating for the use in Potable Water Service is a solvent free ultra-high solid product.
Furthermore, the cold cure epoxy lining / coating for use in contact with Potable Water can be applied by SÄKAPHEN in Gladbeck, Germany or its international network of authorized applicators. If required, the cold cure range of products can be site applied by suitably qualified and assessed third party applicators if contracted to local water treatment facilities. The lining / coating can be applied by use of standard airless equipment.
