The vast majority suffer some way, be it corrosion or incrustation which results in a loss or drop in performance and can lead to increased operating or investment costs.
Applying our proven range of heat cured thermosetting baked phenolic or epoxy-phenolic linings internally or coating externally on Heat Exchangers, Condensers or Coolers exposed to severe service conditions is commonplace.
The shop applied baked linings in cooling service prevent corrosion caused by conditioned and unconditioned cooling water and further reduce fouling and incrustation due to their smooth hydrophobic surface of 1 to 2 microns of surface roughness. Leading to a reduced pressure drop, improved flow speed, thus lowering energy consumption when in operation.
By applying our linings to the tube-side and / or shell-side of Heat Exchangers, Condensers or Coolers, capital costs decrease by the use of simple carbon steel and provide significant life time extension.
Cold cured epoxy linings can be applied to tube sheets preventing galvanic corrosion, where differing metals may be used, for example tubes and tube sheets. Furthermore, associated Inlet and Outlet Waterboxes, Channel Covers and Floating Heads can be coated separately from the bundle with a choice of both heat cured and cold cured lining and coatings, depending on the service conditions.
A further benefit of SÄKAPHEN heat cured and cold cured linings and coatings is that they allow a lower fouling factor when designing new Heat Exchangers, Condensers or Coolers.
It is important to note that suitable linings and coating used in heat exchange operation have to be resistant to water vapor diffusion and extreme temperature fluctuations, all of which SÄKAPHEN offers.
